Everything starts with a story
Hi, I'm Monse! I’m an architectural designer by trade and a storyteller by heart. I’m very passionate, curious, and driven by a desire to tell new, exciting and memorable stories through my designs.
I knew I wanted to have a career in themed entertainment since I was about 9 years old on a trip to Disney World. It was the first time I realized that something that I had only seen in two dimensions in films or picture books was transformed into something that I could experience myself. Every attraction, restaurant or resort was giving me an opportunity to visit all types of lands and to take part in their stories.
Ever since that moment, everywhere I went I would pay more attention to details and how every single element altered the perspective of the overall space. From the shape of the windows and the color of the walls to the decorations in the railings and the materials for flooring, everything is part of the story.
I have an MFA in Themed Entertainment Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design and during my time as a student, I had the opportunity to apply my skills and passion for the industry as a Master Planning intern for both Universal Creative and Walt Disney Imagineering.
For the last 2 years, I have been working as a planner / urban designer at RVi Planning + Landscape Architecture assisting in the development, documentation, and presentation of projects in a range of market sectors.
My multicultural background combined with my architectural education and experiences in the themed entertainment industry, give me a unique and holistic design thinking process.
